GSD Award Winner
CIRA's Associate Director for Boulder Collaborations, Cliff Matsumoto, announced at the meeting that Jebb Q. Stewart, of GSD's Technology Outreach Branch – FX-Net Project, has been selected to receive the 2007 CIRA Research Initiative Award. The award is in recognition of Jebb's technical leadership in the system design and development of enabling technology for the Gridded FX-Net System. The system has recently been adopted by operational fire weather forecasters working for the National Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and National Interagency Fire center. The data provided by the system are essential to daily fire prediction forecasts.
